Lincoln's Sales Soar!

In the past, Lincoln wasn’t doing very well. Lincoln basically only rebadged the Ford vehicles with minor upgrades. But lately, with new models like the MKZ and the brand new Continental, Lincoln has redefined itself. With the new refreshed models, US sales have grown by 10 percent, the best growth that Lincoln has seen in nine years.

The icing on the cake for their rebound record year was December. Thanks to the success of the new Continental and the brand’s newest SUVs, Lincoln ended 2016 with considerable growth and momentum for the next year. The all-new Lincoln Continental pulled in an additional 1,845 sales in December, bringing its total since launch to 5,261 units sold. Lincoln SUV sales were up 11.9% in 2016 as the MKX and MKC carried the lion’s share. MKX sales were up 39.5% at a total of 30,967 units sold, and MKC sales rose 4% at 25,562 units sold for the year.

While the sales have been impressive in the United States, in China, sales on Lincoln have improved by three fold. Lincoln sold 32,558 cars in 2016 in China. This growth was mainly attributed to positive reception to the brand's SUV models and a growing number of dealerships which now stands at 65. New Lincoln models have some of the most comfortable seats on the market as well as very roomy back seats, both of which are very important to Chinese consumers.

Great things are coming this year for the luxury brand, with the launch of the Lincoln Service Valet program. Ready to drive a Lincoln? Check out our Inventory of fine Lincoln vehicles and contact us to test drive yours today!

On the inside of the car, the door release is a button, light pressure on the door release button and the door pops open. Lincoln recalls

Ford Motor Company is issuing a massive recall involving the Ford Fusion and the Lincoln MKZ.In total, Ford will be issuing a recall on 680,000 Fusion and MKZ cars. The recall is to fix the a seat belt issue on the luxury sedans. The model years that are affected fall into the range of 2013-2016. The recall campaign seeks to fix seat belts that do not operate properly in high temperatures. 602,000 of those being recalled were sold in the US market.  Ford has reported that they are aware of two accidents and two injuries associated with the issue.

Additionally, Ford is recalling a slew of vehicles including 2006-2011 MKZ and 2007-2010 MKX. This recalled is because of the passenger side airbag.  An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules, and used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front air bags, these inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.

Ford will notify owners by mail of their recall, ford dealers will replace the affected parts at no cost to the owner. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. You can schedule your recall service through Gurley Leep Southside Ford-Lincoln. And while you’re there check out our inventory.

Flight of the Navigator- The Navigator Concept

At the 2016 Los Angeles International Auto Show, over to the Lincoln Motor Company booth and we saw a familiar face, the 2016 Lincoln Navigator. This Navigator is the same one that was first seen at the New York Auto Show.

This is definitely an interesting concept that Lincoln has put forward. It’s striking look was well received at the NY Auto Show and poll on the internet revealed that a majority of those polled loved this concept. And it is still a show-stealer in LA as well.

This concept of the 2016 Lincoln Navigator has some really unique features that make the masses love this concept. First off, this Navigator is equipped with vertical lift, gull-wing doors. The gull-wing doors are always a novel idea when it comes to concept vehicles, everyone loves them but very rarely do they make a final vehicle. The other really cool feature the automatic steps that lower out from under the vehicle when the doors are opened. Lincoln and Ford have used the automatic steps on such vehicles as the Navigator and F-150 trucks. The difference is that this concept has multiple steps that lower out of the vehicle.

Even outside of its novel features, there’s plenty that the Lincoln Navigator concept gets right. The SUV’s stunning “Storm Blue” paint hue is still soothing to look at,

While this concept Navigator may never make it to dealership floors, you can check out the Navigators that we do have in our inventory and contact us now to try out your own Navigator now.

The Coolest Continental Ever

Lincoln is betting big with their return to where it all made them great, the Lincoln Continental. The Lincoln Continental has always been known as one of the most celebrated and recognizable names in the history of automobiles, and in 2017 Lincoln is bringing it back!

The Lincoln Continental is completely redesigned from the ground up, the flashy new Continental debuted at the New York Auto Show in 2015. We can’t wait for the Continental to arrive in 2017, until then, here are the coolest features you will get with the new Lincoln Continental.

-Sleek Lighting and Illuminated Welcome Mat
When you approach the new Continental, the key fob signals the vehicle and the car lights up. Headlights, daytime running lights and taillights illuminate along with a bright white Lincoln lighting flashes from underneath the handle.

-Door Handle Placement
The door handles on the Lincoln Continental do not sit in the typical door placement, instead they rest on the piece of trim underneath the window. This allows the Continental to have a cleaner, sleeker look.

-Power Cinching Doors
With the new Continental there is no need to slam the door to close it. Just push the door shut and the Continental will do the rest. Once the vehicle recognizes the door is shut it cinches the door tight.

-Massaging Seats are an Added Plus
Along with the optional 30-way adjustable “Perfect Position” seats the new Lincoln Continental adds massaging seats to its comfort option, heat and cooled seats and a four way lumbar support make this the most comfortable ride.

-Revel Audio Package
The Continental includes Revels Ultima 19-speaker audio system in their Black Label Models, The system has truly lifelike bass vibes and clear as a bell highs with no harshness. This really is the way to listen in style.

-Massive Panorama Sunroof
The Continental has a two-panel sunroof that spans the entire length if the roof. The front panel slides while the rear panel stays in place. But all passengers get an amazing view from every seat.

We cannot wait for the all-new 2017 Lincoln Continental to hit our showroom floors, until then check out our other great Lincoln models and contact us today to order your 2017 Lincoln Continental now!

Lincoln tops ACSI Brand Satisfaction Survey

The American Customer Satisfaction Index’s (ACSI) Automobile Report 2016 recently released their report of industry-wide customer satisfaction for automobiles. And this year, Lincoln has earned top honors. The ASCI “is a national economic indicator of customer evaluations of the quality of products and services available to household consumers in the United States.”

Brands are judged in the ASCI on a max satisfaction score of 100. Lincoln bested all competition with a score of 87%. Their score this year is 4 points higher than last year. Lincoln stood atop the nearest competition by a close margin; Honda (86), BMW (85), Toyota (85) and GMC (84) and crushed the industry average of 82.

The ASCI judge brands based on a variety of factors, including performance, dependability, safety, exterior design and gas mileage.  Luxury brands scored higher points for factors such as comfort, quality and technology. But mass market brand scored even points on factors such as performance, dependability, exterior, safety and website design.

The New MKX is one sweet drive

Typically when you think of luxury SUV, you think of the Audi Q5, Lexus RS or Cadillac SRX. But Lincoln has been working hard over the last few years to change that. And now with the redesigned 2016 MKX, Lincoln is claiming its seat at the table. And that has been the brand’s strategic challenge over the last decade: Not enough younger buyers had that nameplate in their heads when they were splashing out lux bucks for SUVs.

The redesigned 2016 MKX will go a long way to getting Lincoln a seat at the table in this segment, and that’s where a car makes a first impression on you, the driver’s cockpit. MKX “Black Label” model that wraps you in high-quality leather and walnut in the cockpit and includes a 22-way powered seat that adds $1,500 to the base price of $47,650. Yes a 22-way seat. There’s also a “luxury package,” which adds $4,400 and includes a Revel audio system with 19 speakers. That’s a lot of speakers.

Under the hood sits Ford’s 2.7-liter V-6 EcoBoost power plant (a $2,000 option), which generates a sprightly 335 horsepower. That’s 30 h.p. more than the standard 3.7-liter power plant, thanks to twin turbos. On the safety front, Lincoln offers a little gizmo, an optional front-facing camera that hides behind the emblem until you engage the camera. It’s part of a parking assist package that includes adaptive cruise control, active braking, and a lane-keeping system—all of which has become pretty standard in this category.

Like its competitors, the MKX lets you tune the ride to your driving style: sport, comfort, or economy. On the all-wheel-drive models—and again, you’ll pay up—there’s also a continuously controlled damping system to limit vibrations.

Still, you’ve got to credit Lincoln for stepping up its game. The MKX is truly plush and comfy and it’s going to give anyone shopping for a luxury SUV another good choice to think about.
