Lincoln recalls

Ford Motor Company is issuing a massive recall involving the Ford Fusion and the Lincoln MKZ.In total, Ford will be issuing a recall on 680,000 Fusion and MKZ cars. The recall is to fix the a seat belt issue on the luxury sedans. The model years that are affected fall into the range of 2013-2016. The recall campaign seeks to fix seat belts that do not operate properly in high temperatures. 602,000 of those being recalled were sold in the US market.  Ford has reported that they are aware of two accidents and two injuries associated with the issue.

Additionally, Ford is recalling a slew of vehicles including 2006-2011 MKZ and 2007-2010 MKX. This recalled is because of the passenger side airbag.  An inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death. These vehicles are equipped with certain air bag inflators assembled as part of the passenger frontal air bag modules, and used as original equipment or replacement equipment. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front air bags, these inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling.
